it’s not a long time passed since our last community update. On January 23th, we published the first “monthly report” Medium article. Have a read in case you missed it!

And today, we will be sharing the last project’s traction since the last update.

fqrweaveSDK:

The last MINOR version of fQR Weave python SDK has been released today (v0.1.5).

What’s new?

  • `fill_color` has been changed from black to purple.
  • fix known issues.
  • enhance the business model.
  • added analytics (visualization) methods for dfQR.

Business model enhancement:

Before this upgrade, the business logic was used to be as “collect then distribute”. But as we expand more in real-world business, we find out the market’s scalability issues with the adapted business model.

The Why

fQR Weave is designed to serve any sized business and for that reason, having a flat monthly fee (fixed) in a volatile currency — AR — for verified generators goes against low-frequency generators and business standards. Especially for academic/document sector generators that generate fQRs seasonally.

The Solution: “Pay as you generate”

To assure fairness amongst verified generators, we implemented a new on-chain method to collect PSC fees. From fqrweaveSDK v0.1.5 onwards, the generator pays $0.005 equivalent in AR for each generated static fQR. In this way, fQR Weave can escalate in terms of active users (generators) better than before.
fees distribution proportions have not been changed. FQR PST holders receive 50% of fQR generating fees each 72h hours (or whenever collected fees are greater than zero).

The Vision:

fQR Weave team tends to integrate the project more in the paper-documents authentication domain.

Adoption Traction:

After NanosTech integration, fQR Weave acquired a new academic-sector user: Lebanese International Academy (LIA).

About:

LIA is a regional academic center that has branches (academies) in Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, and Iraq. With more than 8000 issued certificates, LIA will authenticate any newly issued certificate with an fQR code.

Ecosystem Update:

  • more than 1500 static fQRs generated so far.
  • users can now access the immutable fQR Reader from reader.fqrweave.tech
